Refund Policy

1. 14-Day Money-Back Guarantee

We offer a 14-day money-back refund on the initial annual purchase of any LocusBIM subscription tier (Individual, Team, Enterprise). No questions asked.

To request a refund within the 14-day window, email billing@locusbim.com with:

• Your license key, or
• The email address used at purchase, and the approximate purchase date

Approved refunds are processed within 5–10 business days to the original payment method. Your license is deactivated automatically on the next license-verification ping (typically within 30 days, sooner if you open the application).

2. After the 14-Day Window

After 14 days, refunds are at our sole discretion and reviewed on a case-by-case basis. We will consider refund requests for circumstances such as:

• Documented software defects we are unable to resolve within a reasonable timeframe
• Billing errors (duplicate charges, charges after explicit cancellation)
• Situations required by applicable consumer-protection law

We will not refund subscription renewals after the 14-day window unless required by law, and we do not pro-rate mid-period cancellations. If you cancel mid-period, you retain access through the end of the paid period.

3. Annual Renewals

LocusBIM licenses do NOT auto-renew by default. This matches the procurement workflow common at Architecture and Engineering firms — annual requisition + purchase order — and avoids charges your accounting team didn't expect.

We send renewal reminders 60 days, 30 days, and 7 days before your license expires. Each reminder includes the renewal price + payment options (credit card OR invoice/PO if that fits your firm's accounting workflow). If you do not renew, your license enters a 30-day read-only grace period before transitioning fully to trial-prompting mode. Your project data remains on your device throughout.

You may opt into automatic renewal through your LocusBIM account; opt-in renewals charge the card on file 7 days before expiry and you can opt back out at any point before that charge. If a charge fails on opt-in renewal, the same 14-day-to-update + 30-day-grace staircase applies.

4. Free Trial

New installations include a 30-day free trial of the full feature set, no credit card required. You can use LocusBIM for the entire 30-day period without any payment. After the trial ends, a license purchase is required to continue using paid features — but no charge is made if you simply stop using the software.

5. Chargebacks

If you have a billing concern, please contact us first at billing@locusbim.com — we resolve nearly all billing issues directly within 1–2 business days. Initiating a chargeback through your card issuer without first contacting us may result in immediate license suspension and is generally a slower path to resolution.

6. Statutory Rights

This policy does not limit your rights under applicable consumer-protection law. Residents of Quebec, for example, have specific rights under the Consumer Protection Act (R.S.Q., c. P-40.1) which apply regardless of the terms above. If a provision in this policy conflicts with such law, the statutory protection prevails.
