BIM coordination for architecture & engineering students.
Learn the same coordination workflows used by working Canadian BIM managers. Free with a university email — full platform, no feature gating, no time-bombed access.
Join the waitlistThe gap between coursework and the industry
Universities teach Revit and AutoCAD. The industry coordinates with them — and increasingly demands a coordination layer most coursework never covers.
- Single-discipline Revit + AutoCAD coursework
- PDF markups in Acrobat or printed sheets
- Issues tracked in spreadsheets or email threads
- No exposure to BCF, clash detection, or model-to-drawing linking
- Multi-discipline coordination on every project
- PDF markups bidirectionally linked to 3D model coordinates
- Issues with BCF export, status threads, assignment
- Clash detection, section-box review, cost-impact awareness
Workflow walkthroughs by working professionals
Real coordination work, recorded by Canadian BIM managers and content creators using LocusBIM on live projects. Available once the first set of walkthroughs is published — join the waitlist to be notified.
Put coordination experience on your CV.
Architects and BIM managers at firms in Canada, the UK, and the UAE use LocusBIM for the coordination side of real projects. Learn the same workflows during your degree — graduate with portfolio work firms already recognise.
What you get
The full LocusBIM platform — same desktop application Canadian A&E firms pay for, no feature gating tied to your student status.

Frequently asked questions
Who qualifies for free access?
Architecture, engineering, and construction-management students currently enrolled at a recognised university or college. Verification is by university email — we accept .edu, .ac.<country>, and a permissive list of regional academic TLDs. If your university uses an unusual email pattern, submit the form anyway and our team will verify manually.
Can my professor use LocusBIM?
Yes. Faculty with a university email get free personal-use access on the same terms as students. Institutional licensing for a department, lab, or program — multiple seats, single sign-on, admin controls, central billing — is also available; reach out at hello@locusbim.com.
What happens when I graduate?
We will let you know well in advance. Our intent is to support graduates through their first job transition; the exact post-graduation terms are being finalised based on feedback from the current waitlist cohort. Joining the waitlist now does not commit you to anything.
Is this a trial, or really free?
Really free. No credit card, no time-bombed access, no feature gating tied to your student status. The free student tier is funded by our paying firm-seat customers — it is a long-term investment, not a marketing teaser.
Does it work offline?
Yes. LocusBIM is desktop-first. Models, PDFs, markups, and the AI features all run on your machine. You can work on a long flight, on site without signal, or anywhere your laptop goes.
What operating systems are supported?
Windows 10/11 and macOS 12+. Linux is on the roadmap but not currently shipping.
Will my coursework portfolio look professional with LocusBIM exports?
That is exactly the design goal. Exported PDF markups, BCF issue reports, and 3D walkthroughs are the same format Canadian A&E firms use on real projects. Putting "LocusBIM coordination workflow" on a CV next to Revit and AutoCAD signals industry-standard practice.
How is my data handled?
Project files stay on your machine. Anything you choose to sync (collaboration sessions, share links) is routed exclusively through AWS ca-central-1 (Montreal) — never US-hosted infrastructure. This is the same data residency posture we offer paying enterprise customers, applied to your student work.
