Forms Toolbar

Add interactive PDF form fields — checkboxes, dropdowns, text inputs, and signature fields — to construction documents.

Forms Toolbar

Place interactive form field annotations on PDF pages. Enable via View → Toolbars → Forms.

Design Mode

Enable Design Mode in the toolbar before placing fields. In Design Mode, clicking a field type activates it, then a single click on the canvas places the field at a standard size. Fields are placed at fixed dimensions suited to their type — no click-drag required.

Fill Mode

Enable Fill Mode to interact with existing form fields on the PDF canvas. In Fill Mode, clicking a field activates it for data entry — type into text fields, tick checkboxes, select radio options, or choose dropdown values. Use Fill Mode when reviewing completed forms or filling in field annotations created in Design Mode.

Placing Fields

  1. Enable Design Mode using the toggle button
  2. Click a field type button (Text, Checkbox, Radio, Dropdown, or Signature)
  3. Click once on the PDF canvas at the desired location — the field appears immediately
  4. Use the selection handles to move or resize the placed field
  5. Press Delete or Backspace to remove a selected field

Field Behavior

Each field is placed as a grouped markup object consisting of a background rectangle and a label indicator. Fields are saved to the markup database and are visible at any zoom level. They appear as visual indicators on the PDF — useful for annotating where reviewers should fill in information or sign.

Tip: Form fields are markup objects in LocusBIM. They mark the location and type of a required field on the drawing. Toggle between Design Mode and Fill Mode using the respective buttons in the toolbar.
